We will continue to educate and promote our tribal members about the best labor services available, focusing on hiring and training local talent and mentoring Alaskan students. To mentor healthcare providers concerning the most efficient laboratory test to diagnose, treat, and monitor diseases. Our Laboratory is Accredited by and the Unalakleet Sub-regional Clinic as well as our other 14-village clinic’s Point of Care testing are accredited.
The laboratory supports an inpatient unit consisting of 16 beds, an outpatient clinic, Quyanna Care Center (Long Term Care Facility), and an on-site 24-hour Emergency Department. Fifteen village clinics and village health services are supported by the laboratory which provides point of care testing consistent with the hospital program. Specimens from the village clinics are sent to our lab daily. The laboratory participates consistently with the rotation of outpatient specialty clinics to facilitate best patient care.
We employee Admin Assistants, Laboratory Drivers, Phlebotomists, Medical Laboratory Assistants, Point of Care Technicians & Assistants, Medical Laboratory Technicians, Medical Laboratory Scientists/Medical Technologists, a Laboratory Informatics Specialist, a Point of Care Administrator, an Administrative Laboratory Director, and a High Complexity Laboratory Director.
We run a wide variety of laboratory tests in-house with the help from our instruments: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , along with multiple manual testing kits from varies vendors. Any test that cannot be done in-house are sent to our reference labs. We also help local business by being a collection site for Drug screening/testing (Quest Diagnostics Employer Solutions Contact Information).
